Stained glass restoration – Glisson Road<\/strong><\/a> Cambridge. A minor stained glass repair to several panes in the right hand door panel prompted the discovery of the original centre stained glass section of the door folded up in the cellar. Barely a minute later the discovery is offered up to the aperture (below) to see how it looks.<\/p>\n

Glisson Road in Cambridge panel discovered<\/p><\/div>\n

The lower third of the panel is in need of re-leading and a good number of panes have cracks or are missing. The panel in this area will be stripped and all new lead came added to form a new section to the leaded panel and then soldered into place. Patination will then match the new lead to the original seemlessly.<\/p>\n

These matching orange and blue quarter lights are fitted to the back door of the property however one blue one was missing…<\/p>\n

Matching the floral pattern of the central Victorian jewel proved to be impossible but the style used is appropriate and the matching panel has been made to reinstate the look of the door.<\/p>\n
