On 3rd July I was invited to display the Panhard stained glass panel by Cranfield University at their International Conference on the History of Motorsport Technology.<\/p>\n

The event was hosted by Sir Jackie Stewart and featured presentations from many important contributors some of whom had been directly responsible for step changes in motorsport including Mike Pilbeam and Peter Wright formerly of BRM and now with the FIA and in particular Brian O\u2019Rourke from Williams F1. Brian gave a fascinating presentation on the changes in safety across the last 25 years \u2013 his tenure of course spanning the death of Ayrton Senna in a Williams.<\/p>\n

A fantastic selection of vehicles \u2013 many fresh from Goodwood Festival of Speed – were gathered as a support for the event which can be seen here<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Sir Jackie took time out to address the Cranfield students attending the event on the importance of communication in order that they would be able to sell not only themselves to potential employers but also their engineering proposals. This part of the day was conducted using the Panhard stained glass panel as a backdrop!<\/p>\n
